Albert Cottage Hotel, East Cowes, Isle of Wight

The Isle of Wight is so close to us but the only question is, how do we get across the Solent? We've played on the Isle of Wight before, Sandown and Newport, and usually get the ferry down the road in Lymington. This time we were in East Cowes with a late finish so it was the ferry from Southampton this time around. Easy…

An hours drive down the M27 and another hour on the ferry, the venue was just on the other side; the beautiful Albert Cottage Hotel, a Grade II listed building which, at one time, was owned by the Royal family.

The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and allowed us to get on with our jobs superbly. The bride, Jessica, had requested us to start the night with 5 acoustic songs which included the first dance of Adele's 'Make You Feel My Love', and then to kick on with the full band.

The audience were on the dance floor from the get go and we saw some tears from the girls to begin with and then some big lungs from the guys during some of the more anthemic numbers.

James, our bassist, and Andy, our guitarist, left Naomi and Billy to run the disco for the final hour of the night. The Groom had provided a playlist which rounded off the night with Dirty Dancing's 'Time of my Life' to everyones delight.

The end of a fantastic night saw Billy having to be woken up on the ferry as it reached Southampton, there's no rest for the wicked…
